Meet the Team

  • Velora Thomas

    FOUNDER/CEO

    Velora is a native of Montgomery, Alabama currently living in the big state of Texas where she works as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor and Recreation Therapist. She is passionate about helping women develop a personal relationship with God. She knows that this relationship above all the others is vital for every other area of life to flourish and be in alignment. This girl meets no strangers, is very outgoing and loves God’s people. She enjoys serving in many capacities within God’s kingdom, being a foster parent, traveling, hanging out with the women that God has blessed her with in this season, going on nature walks, playing fun board games and spending intimate time with the Lord who she refers to as “her Husband”.

  • Michael Hall

    BOARD MEMBER

    Michael Hall is a native of Indiana, currently residing in Texas. Retired from Harris County Juvenile Probation Department, DePelchin Children's Center, Harris Co Big Brother / Big Sister, Vigo Co. and The Sunshine House Runaway Shelter.

    Praise The Lord, I am honored and proud, to serve and assist Ms, Velora Thomas in achieving the vision, purpose and goals, God has given her for Godly Girls Inc. To God Belongs The Glory!

    BOARD MEMBER

    Shyla, a St, Louis Native, is a dedicated mental health advocate with a mission to promote awareness, understanding, and support for mental well-being. With a background in secondary education, christian counseling, leadership development, social work & restorative justice, she brings both professional expertise and personal experience to the forefront of mental health advocacy.

  • Joylann Lumpford

    BOARD MEMBER

    Joylann Lumpford also known as Joy is a Beaumont TX native who currently resides in Humble TX. Joy is a faithful daughter, sister, aunt and friend. Joy enjoys spending time with her loved ones, playing pickleball, baking, reading and traveling. She established her small business Serving Joy in 2013 after graduating from the International Culinary School at The Art Institute of Houston. This business was centered around serving joy through culinary arts.

    Since then, Joylann has expanded the business from a special occasion dessert artistry business to a community service business teaching others how to hone culinary arts skills by cooking and baking with a focus on wellness. She has over 5 years of experience teaching Introduction to Culinary Arts in the local school district as well as hosting private dessert classes.

    Joylann has been a youth mentor in churches and communities for over 10 years with a focus on serving young girls as well as women and helping them to define their God-given identity, callings, gifts, and purpose. Her main focus is to bring faith in Jesus to the forefront of serving of others.

  • Brandi Ray

    BOARD MEMBER

    Brandi Ray is a wife and a mom, which are two of her most valued roles, while also being a motivational speaker, author, and CEO of Ray Way Legacies, LLC, where she mentors women as they build resilience, embrace their identity, and pursue purpose with confidence. 

    Brandi’s 20+ years as a certified court reporter in the judicial system gave her a unique lens into the strength of the human spirit. Now, she uses that perspective to mentor and equip women to rise above obstacles and walk in the fullness of who God created them to be.

    Her passion for inspiring others is rooted in her faith, and her commitment is to walk alongside women as they grow spiritually, reclaim their worth, and live courageously in their God-given calling.

  • Shantania Loving-Leggins

    BOARD MEMBER

    Shantania Loving-Leggins is a Wealth Advisor, entrepreneur, and community leader with a passion for helping women and families build lasting legacies. She specializes in guiding women toward financial freedom through education, planning, and empowerment. Alongside her professional work, Shantania actively serves her community through local nonprofits, church initiatives, and programs that uplift women and families. As a wife and mother of five, she brings a wealth of personal experience, faith, and wisdom to her role on the Godly Girl Board of Directors, where she is committed to advancing the mission of inspiring and equipping women to grow in both faith and confidence.
