FOUNDER/CEO

Velora is a native of Montgomery, Alabama currently living in the big state of Texas where she works as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor and Recreation Therapist. She is passionate about helping women develop a personal relationship with God. She knows that this relationship above all the others is vital for every other area of life to flourish and be in alignment. This girl meets no strangers, is very outgoing and loves God’s people. She enjoys serving in many capacities within God’s kingdom, being a foster parent, traveling, hanging out with the women that God has blessed her with in this season, going on nature walks, playing fun board games and spending intimate time with the Lord who she refers to as “her Husband”.

BOARD CHAIRMAN

David Chavis is a native of Montgomery, Alabama and now resides in Savannah, Georgia. The pride and joy of his life is his wife of 16 years Rasheema Chavis, their two daughters A’lice Chavis and Aubre Chavis and their twin boys, Malachi Chavis and Isaiah Chavis. He is employed as the Senior Operations Manager for Crane Worldwide Logistics. He also serves as the Pastor at First Friendship Missionary Baptist Church in Savannah, Georgia. He is currently pursuing his Master of Divinity at Regent University. David is a 7-year U.S. Army Veteran where he proudly served and received an Honorable Discharge in 2013. In his spare time, he enjoys volunteering and facilitating classes for Family Advocacy Programs, fishing, reading, golfing, and grilling. It’s his goal to inspire as many people as he can and to leave an amazing legacy for his children to continue as they live out their lives.

Missy is a native of Texas currently residing in Atlanta, Ga. She is the middle child of six. Missy is a Therapist and she loves it! My favorite Bible Verse is Jeremiah 29:11. What I love about Godly Girl is their love for God and women.

Michael Hall is a native of Indiana, currently residing in Texas. Retired from Harris County Juvenile Probation Department, DePelchin Children's Center, Harris Co Big Brother / Big Sister, Vigo Co. and The Sunshine House Runaway Shelter.

Praise The Lord, I am honored and proud, to serve and assist Ms, Velora Thomas in achieving the vision, purpose and goals, God has given her for Godly Girls Inc. To God Belongs The Glory!

SECRETARY

Ebony Sherrill is an Atlanta native. She is a NICU nurse manager in the Houston area. In her spare time, she likes to travel, shop, try new restaurants, golf and being involved at her local church, Higher Dimension. Some of her spiritual gifts are helps, teaching and expressing her faith. Most importantly, she is a child of GOD, a wife and a mom to her newborn son.

BOARD MEMBER

Avid follower of Jesus Christ. From a little girl, I can remember having an inclination to serve God. Just wanting to do what was right, to do my best in life and to give to others in whatever capacity that was needed. I still house those intrinsic internal attributes. I am grateful that His hands are molding and shaping me into His image. Oh what a wonderful delight to study to be approved by God. It doesn’t always feel good but it is for my good and His glory, (Romans 5:4-5). What an exceptional God we serve; there is no rival! Currently I am serving H-E-B as a top store leader. I have been with the greatest retail contributor for 7 years. I have a Master’s in Health Care Administration and a BBA in Marketing and Business. My hobbies are singing, reading, teaching the word of God & DivorceCare and exercising. Grateful to God for the privilege and honor to serve Godly Girl as a Board Member.
