How Godly Girl started
Hey girl heyy! My name is Velora Thomas. I am 32 years young and live in Pearland, Texas. I work as Vocational Counselor as well as Certified Recreation Therapist. I was recently licensed to be a foster parent in the State of Texas. My sole purpose in life is to serve and please God in everything that I do. God is the reason for my entire being. I have realized that God uses our most painful experiences to shape and mold us for our purpose. At the time when I found God for myself, I was journeying through a separation/divorce and what I realized throughout that experience is that I needed a personal relationship with God.
Yes, I knew of God but I didn’t know him on an intimate level. You see, God wants to be present in every aspect of our life. It was at the moment I surrendered every part of my being to God’s will and way is when I began to hear from God about my purpose. God gave me the vision for Godly Girl Inc. in 2019 after I prayed long and hard for a community of godly women to help me into a personal relationship with Christ in order to live Christlike! & boy did He answer my prayers plus some!! He’s GOOD like that!! In June of 2019, I launched the Godly Girl Talk call via the Zoom app! Yep, before the pandemic hit, we were already virtual. We’ve been meeting every Thursday at 6PM since then!! You’ll have to join us!!
Godly Girl Talk is a space where women of all ages and backgrounds can come together and have raw conversations about all aspects of life and apply biblical truths. We do life together!! In June of 2020, God led me to start the Godly Girl Talk podcast. It has the same purpose and vision as the Godly Girl Talk call. We are So glad God led you here!! We currently have 27 members, ages range from 22-65, with the majority of our members being African American women. We are looking to reach women all over the world and welcome them into our growing community. Currently we have members residing in West Virginia, Texas, Louisiana, Alabama, Oklahoma, Hawaii, Nigeria and the Netherlands.
